Chenggong Elementary School

Chenggong Elementary School was founded on March 8, 1912 as "Tainan Girls' Public School." It was renamed "Meiji Public School" in 1928, began admitting boys in 1937, and became "Meiji National School" in 1941. After 1945 it went through several more renamings — Tainan City Zhongqu No. 1 National School, then Guangfu National School, then Chenggong National School — before settling on Chenggong Elementary School in 1968. The school celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012 with a visit from then-President Ma Ying-jeou, a rare honor among Tainan public elementary schools. Since the 2018 academic year, its students have been relocated to Wenxian Junior High School while the historic campus — immediately adjacent to Chihkan Tower in the Chihkan Cultural Park — undergoes a major multi-year redevelopment. As of 2026, students remain at the temporary Wenxian campus, with a return to the rebuilt home campus expected around the 2026 academic year according to 2025 news coverage; visitors should confirm current campus status with the school directly.

成功國小創校於1912年（明治45年／大正元年）3月8日，初名「臺南女子公學校」。1928年改稱「明治公學校」，1937年起兼收男學生，1941年改稱「明治國民學校」。戰後歷經多次更名，先後為「臺南市中區第一國民學校」、「光復國民學校」、「成功國民學校」，1968年始定名為「成功國民小學」。2012年學校歡慶建校百週年，時任總統馬英九親臨祝賀，是台南公立國小少見的殊榮。自2018學年度起，因緊鄰赤崁樓（赤崁文化園區）的歷史校舍進行大規模整建工程，學生暫時遷至文賢國中就讀。根據2025年新聞報導，重建校舍預計於2026學年度前後完工並讓學生返回原校，惟實際進度仍請以學校最新公告為準。
