Checheng Junior High School was established on August 1, 1968. Its initial campus covered 3.8774 hectares, expanding to 5.4 hectares after additional land acquisition in 1991 to meet growing educational needs. The first cohort had 5 classes; enrollment later peaked at as many as 26 classes. The school runs a violin ensemble and choir as signature arts programs, established a dedicated athletics class and a resource-based math/science gifted class in the 2006–07 school year, and actively participates in the “Education Priority Area” program, offering free winter and summer remedial tutoring for culturally disadvantaged students.
車城國中創立於民國57年(1968年)8月1日,創校初期校地面積3.8774公頃,民國80年(1991年)因應教育需求擴大用地,總面積增至5.4公頃。首屆招生5班,全盛時期班級數曾達26班。學校以小提琴社團與合唱團作為特色藝文活動,並於95學年度成立體育班及資源式數理資優班。學校並積極推動「教育優先區計畫」,提供文化不利學生免費寒暑假課業輔導。
