Chaozhou Junior High School

Chaozhou Junior High School first admitted students in 1964, holding a joint entrance exam together with the provincial Chaozhou senior high school. The school was renamed from Chaozhou Junior Middle School to its present name, Chaozhou Junior High School, in 1968 under Taiwan's nine-year compulsory education reform. With over 60 years of history as a full junior high — predating that as a joint junior-high program alongside the senior high — the school sits in a well-established administrative and commercial area at the center of Chaozhou Town.

潮州國中於民國53年（1964年）首度招生，當年與省立潮州高中聯合舉行入學考試。民國57年（1968年）九年國教改制時，由潮州初級中學更名為現名潮州國民中學。逾60年的完全國中校史——更早以前則是與高中合辦的初中部——學校座落於潮州鎮中心，行政與商業機能發達的區域。
