Too many students, not too few.
Chaoyin Elementary traces its origins to a teaching classroom established by Dayuan National School on September 1, 1950, becoming independent as Chaoyin National School in February 1956. Unlike the steady depopulation facing most of Dayuan's coastal schools, Chaoyin faces the opposite problem: it is now severely overcrowded, with enrollment surging due to new residential and commercial development near the campus. To relieve the pressure, the Taoyuan City government is building an entirely new school, tentatively called "航科國小" (Aviation-Science Elementary) — its preparatory office was slated to open in August 2025, with the new campus expected to finish around 2027 and begin enrollment around 2028.

⚖️ The Flip Side of Dayuan's Story
While several nearby village schools have closed from depopulation, Chaoyin's growth shows how unevenly airport-driven development has reshaped different parts of the district.
Growth and decline, side by side.
Chaoyin's overcrowding — driven by development tied to the airport and adjacent Qingpu urban growth — is the flip side of the depopulation seen at Dayuan's other, closed coastal schools, showing how unevenly the Aerotropolis project has reshaped the district.
