Changbin Elementary School

Changbin Elementary traces its roots to 1918, under its predecessor name "Kachiowan Public School" — at the time, the only six-year national school north of Xingang during the Japanese colonial era, earning it the enduring nickname "the cradle of Changbin education." Its baseball team's history dates to the 1930s, when it competed in the 1930 Taitung Youth Baseball Tournament, one of the earliest documented school baseball programs anywhere in the region. The township's own name, "Changbin," is itself a 1937 Japanese-imposed renaming of the older Amis place name "Kachiowan," meaning "watchtower."

長濱國小創校於民國7年（1918年），前身為「加走灣公學校」，是日治時期新港以北唯一的六年制公學校，因此被譽為「長濱教育的搖籃」。校內棒球隊歷史可追溯至1930年代，曾參與昭和5年（1930年）臺東少年棒球賽，是本地區最早留下紀錄的學校棒球隊之一。而「長濱」這個鄉名，本身正是1937年日本殖民政府將阿美族舊地名「加走灣」（意為「瞭望台」）改稱而來。
