A distinct institution, same medical-founder lineage.
Chang Gung University of Science and Technology (CGUST) is a legally and organizationally separate university from Chang Gung University (CGU) — the two are distinct institutions under Taiwan's Ministry of Education records, though both descend from the same Chang Gung Medical Foundation lineage founded by Wang Yung-ching, and both are named after his father, Wang Chang-gung. CGUST's own roots trace to a two-year nursing internship program run under Ming Chi College of Technology starting in 1983. In 1988, Wang Yung-ching established Chang Gung Institute of Nursing as an independent two-year junior college. It became a five-year nursing program and was renamed Chang Gung Institute of Technology in 1991, began offering four-year bachelor's degrees and opened a second campus in Chiayi in 2004, and was renamed Chang Gung University of Science and Technology in August 2011.

📶 A Thinner English Website
英文網站內容較精簡
CGUST's English website (english.cgust.edu.tw) is real but noticeably thinner than most peer universities — its homepage functions largely as a navigation shell, though linked subpages such as its Brief History page contain genuine, substantive content. No major global ranking (QS, THE, or ARWU) was found for CGUST in available searches.
Part of Guishan's medical-education cluster.
CGUST's Guishan campus sits immediately alongside Chang Gung University and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, together forming a single Wang Yung-ching-founded medical-education campus that made Guishan one of Taiwan's most concentrated healthcare-industry clusters. See the Taoyuan county page for more on the region.
