Rebuilt after disaster, rooted in tradition.
Zhongyuan Elementary School was established around 1955 and has marked a 70th-anniversary celebration in recent years. Like many schools across Nantou County, its campus was rebuilt with the assistance of the Tzu Chi Foundation following the devastating 1999 921 earthquake. Today the school maintains traditional dragon-dance and drum-troupe performance programs, keeping folk performing arts alive for a new generation of students.
