Named for a classical ideal of renewal.
Rixin Junior High School was approved for construction on December 19, 1969, and broke ground on April 27, 1970, becoming the third junior high school built in Caotun Township. Its founding was championed by then-county-magistrate Lin Yang-kang, who played a key role in expanding junior-high education across Nantou County. The school's name, 日新 ("Daily Renewal"), is drawn directly from the Book of Rites, one of the Chinese classics, reflecting an educational philosophy of continual self-improvement.
