Dunhe Elementary School began in 1976 as the "Caotun Elementary Dunhe Branch" before gaining independent status on January 1, 1980. A Dunhe student recently won first place in Atayal indigenous-language recitation at the county level, reflecting the school's support for indigenous-language education. 敦和國小前身為民國65年（1976年）成立的「草屯國小敦和分校」，於民國69年（1980年）1月1日獨立設校。該校學生近期於全縣泰雅族語朗讀比賽中榮獲第一名，展現學校對原住民族語教育的支持。學校官網也提供英文版本，是草屯地區國小中較具國際能見度的網站之一。
