A newer school built to serve a growing community.
Busin Elementary School was founded on August 1, 1992, when its first principal, Tsai Chung-chen, arrived to lead the new school; the completed campus opened in August 1994 with 12 classes, built specifically to relieve overcrowding at older schools in the Budai area. Enrollment has since fluctuated to around 10 classes. The school added a swimming pool in 1999, and its children's orchestra has gone on to compete nationally, while students' artwork has been featured in a world children's art exhibition. A school lunch program began in 2000, with a kindergarten class added the following year.

紓解學區擁擠而生
Opening with 12 classes in 1994, Busin was purpose-built to ease overcrowding at Budai's older schools, making it one of the newer additions to the township's education system.
Serving Budai's Wenchang and Cenhai communities.
As a relatively young school built to serve Budai's Wenchang/Cenhai residential area, Busin complements the town's older schools while drawing on the same fishing-and-aquaculture-based local community for its student body — a reminder that even Budai's newest school is rooted in the same coastal way of life. See the Chiayi county page for more on the region.
