Beiyuan Elementary School's origins trace back to 1922, when it began as a branch of the “First Public School” in the Beishewei area under Japanese rule. It was formally founded as an independent school in 1933 as the “Tainan Prefecture Chiayi Beishewei Public School.” With over a century of history, the school sits in the agricultural outskirts of Chiayi's West District and, as of late 2023, served 313 students with 28 teachers.
北園國小的歷史可追溯至民國11年(1922年),最初是日治時期「第一公學校」在北社尾地區設立的分教場,於昭和8年(1933年)正式獨立設校,定名為「臺南州嘉義郡北社尾公學校」。學校歷經百年以上校史,座落於嘉義市西區的農業郊區,截至2023年底,全校313名學生、28位教師。
