Beixing Junior High School

Beixing Junior High School was founded in August 1962 as "Chiayi County Lantan Junior High School's Beixing Branch," becoming an independent school that December. In 1964, it established its own branch school in the Alishan area, at Xianglin, which in turn became independent in 1966. The school became a municipal institution in 1982, when Chiayi City was upgraded to provincial-city status, and has since celebrated its 60th anniversary. Notable alumni include entertainer Huang Xiaoruan and NTNU art professor Li Zhenming.

北興國中創立於民國51年（1962年）8月，初名「嘉義縣蘭潭國民中學北興分部」，同年12月20日獨立設校。民國53年（1964年），該校於阿里山地區設立香林分校，於民國55年（1966年）獨立設校。民國71年（1982年）嘉義市升格為省轄市後，改隸市立。學校已慶祝建校六十週年，知名校友包括藝人黃小柔及國立臺灣師範大學美術系教授李振明。
