A postwar school on Hot Spring Road.
Beitou Junior High was founded in June 1946, petitioned into being by local education advocates building on a Japanese-era elementary institution. For a period around 1973–74 the school operated as a girls-only institution, shortly before the surrounding region was transferred to Taipei City administration in 1974. Its softball team, established in 2011, went on to win the regional league in the 107th academic year, and the school's original 1946 founding-cornerstone monument has since been designated a protected cultural heritage asset, marking it as part of Taiwan's postwar education history.

On Hot Spring Road.
Beitou Junior High's own address places it directly on Wenquan ("Hot Spring") Road, right inside Beitou's historic hot-spring resort district — the geothermal valley that has drawn bathers to the area since the Japanese colonial era. See the Taipei county page for more on the region.
