Local Culture · 在地文化

Jiali, market town of the coastal plain.

⛩️

Jiali District has long served as the market town for Tainan's northern coastal plain, centered on Jinluan Temple (金唐殿), one of the region's key Wangye "King Boat Festival" temples and a focal point of Siraya Pingpu ancestor-spirit (阿立祖) worship in nearby hamlets. This vocational school's agricultural and food-processing curriculum grew directly out of the salt-farming, rice-growing and oyster-culture economy of the Beimen coastline that Jiali has served as an inland hub for generations. See the Tainan county page for more on the region.
