Beimei Elementary School was founded on August 1, 1959, and later celebrated its 60th anniversary, consistent with that founding date. The school runs a "Three Goods Campus" (三好校園) character-education initiative and offers puppet theater (偶戲) performances as part of its arts and culture education, alongside mountain and outdoor trail education. It also maintains strong oral health (cavity prevention) and environmental sustainability programs, and offers indigenous-language instruction alongside English.
北美國小創立於民國48年（1959年）8月1日，並曾舉辦60週年校慶，與此創校年份相符。學校推動「三好校園」品格教育，並將偶戲展演納入藝術文化教育的一環，同時結合登山與戶外步道教育。學校亦長期推動口腔保健（防齲齒）與環境永續教育，並開設本土語言課程與英語教學。
