Located in the hills above Nanhua Reservoir, the school today operates a kindergarten branch (瑞峰分班) in cooperation with neighboring Ruifeng Elementary School. Its lunch program uses only domestically sourced pork and beef, and the school website holds AA web-accessibility certification.
北寮國小最初於民國10年（1921年）設立為「北寮分教場」，隸屬於當時改名的南化公學校。學校位於南化水庫上游山區，現與鄰近的瑞峰國小合作，共同經營幼兒園「瑞峰分班」。校園午餐全面採用國產豬肉與牛肉，網站並取得AA無障礙網站標章。
