Beihui Elementary School

Beihui Elementary School was approved by the Chiayi County Government on June 2, 1965, originally named "Chiayi County Shuishang Township Return Elementary School" (回歸國小), established to serve military dependents' children under the ROC Army's "Dingxing Plan" resettlement program. Before its own campus was completed, classes borrowed space at Shuishang Elementary, whose principal, Chen Chunjing, concurrently served as Beihui's first principal. The school moved to its own permanent campus on January 23, 1967, and was later rebranded with "北回" (Beihui, "Tropic of Cancer") in its name. In recent years the school has rebranded itself as the "北回天文AI實驗教育小學" (Tropic of Cancer Astronomy AI Experimental Elementary School), an experimental-education school with a distinctive astronomy and AI/STEM curriculum. Since 2006, it has co-managed the adjacent "太陽館" (Sun-themed science museum/planetarium), branding itself the "world's only Sun School" with a "北回歸線達人" (Tropic of Cancer Expert) school-based curriculum, alongside a robotics lab and dedicated English classroom facilities.

北回國小於民國54年（1965年）6月2日獲嘉義縣政府核准設立，原名嘉義縣水上鄉回歸國民小學，為配合國軍「鼎興計畫」眷村安置政策而設立，服務軍眷子弟。校舍未完工前，暫借水上國小上課，首任校長由水上國小校長陳春景兼任。學校於民國56年（1967年）1月23日遷入永久校地，其後改以「北回」為校名。近年學校轉型為「北回天文AI實驗教育小學」，發展出獨具特色的天文與AI／STEM課程。自民國95年（2006年）起，學校與鄰近的「太陽館」科學博物館／天文館共同經營，自稱全球唯一的「太陽學校」，並發展「北回歸線達人」校本課程，同時設有機器人實驗室與專屬英語教室。
