A branch school that grew into its own.
Beihu Elementary was established in 1960 as a branch campus of Yong'an Elementary School (永安國民學校北湖分校), becoming an independent school three years later in 1963. Like several of its Xinwu peers, its founding traces the historic pattern of Hakka farming hamlets in the district's interior splitting off their own schools as the local population grew inland from the coast. The school keeps a dedicated school-history room documenting generations of its alumni, and remains one of several small rural elementary schools serving Xinwu's inland farming villages.

A branch-school lineage rooted in Hakka settlement.
