From a branch campus to an independent school.
Baolai Junior High opened in September 1972 as 'Kaohsiung County Liouguei Junior High School's Taoyuan Branch,' renamed 'Baolai Branch' in 1973, and became fully independent in August 1977. Though historically linked to Liouguei Senior High's lineage, it is today an independent school with its own track-and-field facility, serving the hot-springs town of Baolai.
