Anchoring Baihe since "Diamboakou."

Baihe Elementary's roots reach back to 1898, when it opened as the "Chiayi Japanese-Language Training Institute, Diamboakou Branch Classroom," under Baihe's historic pre-Japanese-era place name, "Diamboakou" (店仔口). It was renamed "Diamboakou Public School" later that year, then "Baihe Public School" in 1914. After the war it became "Tainan County Baihe Town No. 1 National School" (1946), then "Baihe Town Baihe National School" (1947), and took its current name under nine-year compulsory education in 1968, with its current municipal-district name following the 2010 Tainan city-county merger. Sitting on Sanmin Road in Baihe's town center near the Baihe Reservoir area, it is one of the oldest schools in the district.
