Bade Elementary School

Bade Elementary traces its roots to 1899, when local leaders Qiu Youzhong and Zhao Yudie petitioned to establish a school as “Renhe Public School” during the Japanese colonial era. Over more than 125 years the school has carried a succession of names tracking Taiwan's administrative history — from Renhe Public School through Bakuaicuo Public School to today's Bade Elementary School. Between 1910 and 1980 it spun off five branch schools that later became fully independent: Yuanshulin (1910), Dacheng (1923), Xiaoli (1946), Qiao'ai (1959), and Ruifeng (1980). The campus recently completed the first phase of a reconstruction project, described locally as breathing new life into this “century-old school” (百年老校).

八德國小的歷史可追溯至1899年，由地方仕紳邱有中、趙玉牒等人於1898年提出設校申請，日治時期初名「仁和公學校」。125年來校名數度更迭，歷經八塊厝公學校、八塊公學校、八塊國民學校等階段，最終定名為八德國民小學。1910年至1980年間，學校陸續分出員樹林（1910）、大成（1923）、霄裡（1946）、僑愛（1959）、瑞豐（1980）等五所分校，日後皆獨立設校。校園近期完成第一期改建工程，為這所「百年老校」注入新活力。
