A branch school that grew into its own.
Anzhao Elementary began in 1951 as a branch campus of Yanchao Elementary School, serving children in Qionglin Village, before becoming fully independent in 1957. The school today includes an attached kindergarten and continues to serve a small rural community in Yanchao District's distinctive badlands countryside.

Goat farming in the badlands.
Yanchao's badlands terrain, poor for rice farming, historically pushed communities like Qionglin toward goat farming and dryland crops — a pattern still visible in the countryside around Anzhao Elementary. See the Kaohsiung county page for more on the region.
