Anlan Elementary traces its roots to two village schools established in 1936, but the school as it stands today was built and named in the summer of 1947 by General Ma An-lan, under orders from Kinmen Defense Commander General Hu Lien. The school was officially consolidated and moved to its present site in the summer of 1951. Its original 1947 dormitory was damaged that same year in the August 23 Artillery Bombardment and had to be repaired before the school could open — a reminder of how closely the school's early history was tied to the island's wartime conditions.
安瀾國小的歷史可追溯至1936年設立的兩所村莊學校，而今日的校名與校舍則於1947年夏由馬安瀾將軍奉金門防衛司令官胡璉將軍之命興建並命名。學校於1951年夏正式整併並遷至現址。1947年興建的宿舍當年即在八二三砲戰中受損，修復後才得以開學，見證了建校初期與戰地環境的緊密關聯。
