Fuan Elementary School began modestly in September 1955, as a single first-grade class held in a private house, functioning as a branch of Alian National School. It became fully independent in 1959. Today the school's facilities include a computer room, music room, audiovisual room, English classroom, library, and gymnasium — a considerable expansion from its one-room beginnings. This school, in Alian District, is a distinct institution from the similarly named Fu'an Elementary School in Kaohsiung's Meinong District; the two share a pronunciation but use different Chinese characters.
復安國小創校於民國44年（1955年）9月，最初僅在民宅內開設一年級單班，作為阿蓮國校的分班。民國48年（1959年）正式獨立設校。如今學校設有電腦教室、音樂教室、視聽教室、英語教室、圖書館與體育館，較創校初期的單班規模已大幅擴展。本校位於阿蓮區，與高雄市美濃區同音異字的「福安國小」為兩所各自獨立的學校。
