🚂 Zhuqi Township

Zhuqi Township sits at the foot of the Alishan mountain range, serving as the gateway between the Chiayi plains and the high mountain country. The famous Zhuqi Station (竹崎車站) is one of the oldest surviving wooden railway stations in Taiwan, built in 1910 during the Japanese colonial period.

From here, the Alishan Forest Railway begins its dramatic switchback climb into the mountains. The township is also known for its bamboo forests, tofu production, and the scenic Zhuqi Gorge (竹崎峽谷). Traditional tofu shops along the mountain roads use natural spring water to produce a silky, fresh tofu that has been a local specialty for generations.

竹崎鄉位於阿里山山脈山腳，是嘉義平原與高山地帶之間的門戶。著名的竹崎車站建於 1910 年日治時期，是台灣現存最古老的木造車站之一，阿里山森林鐵路從此展開壯觀的之字形攀山之旅。

本鄉以竹林、豆腐製作和竹崎峽谷的美景聞名。山路旁的傳統豆腐店以天然湧泉水製作出綿滑鮮嫩的豆腐，世代相傳成為在地特產。竹崎大橋與歷史車站區域全年吸引文化觀光旅客造訪。
