🍍 Minxiong Township

Minxiong Township is one of the most populous and economically active townships in Chiayi County, benefiting from its position adjacent to Chiayi City and its role as a major university town. National Chiayi University's main Minxiong Campus (民雄校區) anchors a vibrant student community, with cafés, bookshops, and night market stalls catering to thousands of students. The presence of the university has made Minxiong a center of young energy and cultural activity in rural Chiayi.

The township's agricultural heritage centers on pineapple farming — the warm, well-drained soil of the Minxiong plains is ideal for growing sweet, fibrous pineapples that are processed into juice, jam, and the famous pineapple cake (鳳梨酥) filling. Minxiong also contains the famous "Ghost House" (民雄鬼屋), an abandoned colonial-era mansion that has become one of Taiwan's most talked-about haunted sites, generating a thriving ghost tourism industry.

民雄鄉是嘉義縣人口最多、經濟最活躍的鄉鎮之一，緊鄰嘉義市，且以大學城聞名。國立嘉義大學民雄校區錨定了充滿活力的學生社群，咖啡館、書店與夜市攤位服務著數千名學生，使民雄成為農村嘉義年輕文化的中心。

本鄉的農業傳統以鳳梨種植為主——民雄平原溫暖、排水良好的土壤非常適合種植甜美多汁的鳳梨，加工成果汁、果醬與著名的鳳梨酥內餡。民雄還有著名的「民雄鬼屋」，這棟日治時代廢棄的洋房成為台灣最受矚目的鬼屋景點之一，帶動了蓬勃的靈異觀光產業。
