Dongshi's tidal flats and clean offshore currents create ideal conditions for oyster cultivation. Local farmers manage thousands of bamboo racks in the intertidal zone, harvesting oysters by hand from small wooden boats. Dongshi oysters are prized for their large size, creamy texture, and clean ocean flavor.

東石潮間帶與清潔的外海水流為牡蠣養殖提供了絕佳條件。當地農民在潮間帶管理數千排蚵架，以小木船人工採收。東石蚵以體型碩大、口感細滑、海味純正而聞名。

At low tide, Dongshi's tidal flats become a feeding ground for thousands of shorebirds — black-faced spoonbills, egrets, and migratory sandpipers probe the mud for worms, clams, and small crabs. The flats also support sea lettuce, sea grass, and a rich community of marine invertebrates.

退潮時，東石廣闊的潮間帶成為數千隻水鳥的覓食場——黑面琵鷺、白鷺及候鳥磯鷸在泥灘上覓食蠕蟲、文蛤與小螃蟹。潮間帶也孕育著石蓴、海草及豐富的海洋無脊椎動物群落。

Dongshi Fishing Harbor is a working port where colorful fishing boats return each morning with fresh catches of grouper, sea bream, and squid. The harbor-side market opens at dawn for fish auctions attended by restaurant buyers from Chiayi City and beyond. Freshly steamed oysters and grilled seafood stalls make this a beloved food destination.

東石漁港是一座充滿活力的作業漁港，彩色漁船每天清晨滿載石斑、鯛魚與魷魚歸航。港邊市場在黎明開市，吸引嘉義市各大餐廳業者前來競標漁獲。現蒸鮮蚵與烤海鮮攤位更讓這裡成為遊客最愛的美食聚集地。

Mangrove Wetlands

紅樹林濕地

Dongshi's mangrove forests line the tidal channels with their distinctive stilt roots. These trees are among the most productive ecosystems on earth — filtering water, sequestering carbon, buffering storm surges, and providing shelter for juvenile fish, shrimp, and crabs before they move to open water.

東石的紅樹林以獨特的支柱根沿潮溝生長。紅樹林是地球上生產力最高的生態系之一，具有淨水、固碳、防浪等功能，同時為幼魚、蝦、蟹提供成長庇護所。
