🚉 Dalin Township

Dalin Township is located in the northern part of Chiayi County, positioned along the Western Taiwan Railway Line at a historic junction point. In the early 20th century under Japanese administration, Dalin became an important center for sugarcane processing — the Dalin Sugar Refinery (大林糖廠) operated for decades, processing cane from the surrounding farmland and contributing to the area's economic foundation. The factory's narrow-gauge railway network once spread across dozens of kilometers of cane fields.

Today, Dalin is known throughout Taiwan for Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital (大林慈濟醫院), a world-class medical center founded by Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation in 2000. The hospital serves not only Dalin but the entire northern Chiayi region, drawing patients from across southern Taiwan with its combination of advanced medicine and compassionate care rooted in Buddhist values.

大林鎮位於嘉義縣北部，沿台灣西部縱貫鐵路線的一個重要交會點。日治時代初期，大林成為甘蔗加工的重要中心——大林糖廠運作數十年，處理周邊農地的甘蔗，奠定了地區的經濟基礎。糖廠的輕便鐵路網絡曾延伸數十公里。

今日大林因大林慈濟醫院而聞名全台。這座由佛教慈濟基金會於 2000 年創設的世界級醫療中心，服務大林及整個嘉義北區，以先進醫療結合佛教慈悲精神聞名，吸引台灣南部各地病患前來就醫。
